THIS REVIEW OF "A CAT CALLED IAN" WAS WRITTEN BY KATE HOLLAND OF THE VALE & COTSWOLD MAGAZINE, EVESHAM, WORCESTERSHIRE
Being a cat lover myself, I knew instantly I was going to love this book. From the first chapter I was gripped by the plot and intrigued as to how the story would unfold. The magic begins with a ten-year-old boy who, we grow to learn, is a bit of a troublemaker. When he decides to climb a great oak tree he wakes up to find himself in a place called Catland, ruled by, yes you've guessed it... cats!
Since he has a dislike for cats, he is rather annoyed at being told what to do by these animals and matters are soon made worse when he discovers that he too has been turned into one! After a courtroom drama when he is punished with the Sentence of Nine Lives, this little cat called Ian is forced to mend his ways or else he could find himself stuck as a cat forever.
No matter how young or old you are, whether you're a cat lover or not, this magical read will have you hooked until the very end. With many twists and turns, this wonderful read is the perfect way to wind down after a long, hard day. Sit back, relax and let your imagination fly away with you. You'll never look at a cat the same way again..."

THIS REVIEW WAS WRITTEN BY RACHAEL MANACCHINI-GODFREY, EDITOR OF "THIS IS KIDS' STUFF" MAGAZINE, HEREFORDSHIRE (www.thisiskidsstuff.co.uk)
"A not-so-very-pleasant boy who has an axe to grind with the world falls into another mystical world called "Catland". He doesn't so much fall but rather twists, adjusts and lands on all fours - he is transformed into a cat. He is given the name Ian and the 'Sentence of Nine Lives', one for every serious offence he has committed. In order to become a boy again he must redeem these nine offences. Defiant as ever, Ian is sent away but can he, will he, change for the better? This story, Wolfren's first published, is gritty and direct - 'the boy has attitude'. What is important is how he slowly manages to dissolve his conflicts. Even the tough need a strong but loving hand to guide them."
